Core Objectives & Mandate
The Clean Energy Ministerial Industrial Deep Decarbonisation Initiative (IDDI) is a global coalition working to standardise carbon assessments, establish ambitious public & private sector procurement targets, and incentivise investment into low-carbon product development.
- Standardise Carbon Assessments: Standardising carbon calculation methodologies for heavy industrial construction materials.
- Green Public Procurement: Encouraging national governments to pledge green public procurement targets for low-carbon steel and cement.
- Investment Incentives: Incentivising private and public R&D investment into low-carbon industrial manufacturing design.
- Industry Policy Guidelines: Designing international policy guidelines for hard-to-abate industrial sectors.
Member Nations & Partners
Coordinated by UNIDO and co-led by UK & India. Key members include Canada, Germany, UAE alongside Mission Possible Platform, LeadIT, IRENA, and the World Bank.
